Postdoctoral Position in Neuroscience

A postdoctoral training position is immediately available to study genetic animal models of autism and autism spectrum disorders.  Potential projects include behavioral, cellular, and molecular characterization of genetic animal models relevant to autism and autism spectrum disorder.

Candidates should have a Ph.D., M.D./Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent in neuroscience, biochemistry, molecular biology, physiology, or psychology.  Experience with behavioral analysis, knockout technology or general neuroscience background is desired but not required.  This is an excellent opportunity for a behavioral person to gain molecular training, for a molecular person to gain behavioral training, or for an electrophysiologist to broaden their horizons in a rapidly growing, highly fundable area of disease-related, translational research.  The Fellow should be able to work independently, communicate effectively, and to be willing to fully participate in collaborative opportunities at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Salary/benefits are competitive with industry standards and commensurate with experience.

New Leadership for MCCS-Asia and MCCS-EuropePosted On 2007-9-7

The MCCS Council appointed the three Officer positions for the leadership of MCCS-Asia: Paul Chapman (from GSK, Singapore)  was appointed  President of MCCS-Asia, Shigeyoshi Itohara (RIKEN, Japan) Treasurer, and Sumantra Chattarji (NCBS, India) Secretary. Dr. Chattarji is also newly appointed to a MCCS Council position created to expand representation from Asia.
Peter Seeburg (Heidelberg) will join Riccardo Brambilla (President) and Isabelle Mansuy (Treasurer) as the new Secretary of MCCS-Europe.
